In the the left navigation menu when you click the Connected Data -> Data Sources, you will be taken to the Data Source list page.

The list page shows all available Data Sources.  Filter by type using the drop down provided at the top or by name when using the Search box.

To create a new Data Source, use the “ADD NEW” option available in the options bar.

Creating a Data Source is easy.

  1. Enter a name for the Data Source
This name will show in the various Screen designers so you should try to be descriptive so you can identify one Data Source from another.
  2. External ID is an optional field that you can use to store an identifier from your existing systems.
This gives you a simple way to link Data Sources to your existing system data sets. The External ID lets you link/track this Screen against a similar entity in an external system. Not: this property is required if you are using the API.
  3. Default Row Display field controls how rows of the Data Source will appear on the app by default. For instance, the layout is used in Form screens on choices fields set to use the List of Choices display style.
To the right of the property name is a wireframe example of how the row can be displayed, with positions available to be assigned a column. For example, you can have larger title text appear with smaller subtitle text underneath. If you have image type columns, you can have these appear as thumbnails on each row by assigning to the thumbnail position.
  4. Default User Interaction allows you to specify an interaction that can occur as a result of the user tapping on a row of this Data Source. Examples are dialing a number, viewing a web link, opening a Doc, Screen or map etc.
You can also pass a column value into the interaction, which is handy if for example you are opening a Detail screen for the chosen row.
  5. Validate Column Data, when checked, the data for each column will be validated against its specified Data Type.
  6. Hit the Create button to continue onto the Rows screen.
  7. Once in the Rows screen you can add in rows and columns manual, import an Excel or CSV, or
  8. Connect your data source to one of your outside existing systems and data sources. Settings can be found in your Data Source Settings below your Data Source Rows: Data Source Name. Once in Settings click "ADD CONNECTOR" and select your connection.
